Letter from the Editor

I'm Chris, the face behind Cryteria, and here's where I introduce myself and say hi to all the readers. Yep, all two of you. Hi!

Cryteria was originally launched in 2009 by myself, and then again in 2010 with a design overhaul. The previous site design lasted for around eighteen months, before a second major redesign in February of this year. Which is the site you're looking at now.

I've always loved film (though have watched embarrassingly few classics) and writing, and this site has been combining the two for some time. At first, Cryteria was a pet project; a sly spin on the 'criteria' that critics judge by - all critics have set criteria, even if they don't realise or want to admit it themselves - but after a while the hits started rolling in, and I quickly set up a few social media accounts to promote it across the web.

This is where you come in. I want you to help me build Cryteria into something huge. Write up news, send me reviews; anything you like, on any subject you like - as long as it falls under contemporary TV, game or film. If you want to get involved send me an email at c.wharfe@gmail.com with a sample of your writing. A review; a feature; your latest diary entry - anything that can give me a feel for how you write.

I can't give you coin, but I can give you a moderate audience. And maybe send you a hat or some cutlery (or whatever's lying around) for your troubles. Maybe.
